Design Informational Requirements:

  1. Size & Dimensions
    • Depends on the banner’s purpose and placement in mm
    • Common formats: vertical (for stands) or horizontal (for hanging)

Design Elements:

  1. Headline / Main Message
    • Bold, clear, and readable from a distance
    • Use large font sizes (often 100 pt or more, depending on size)
    • High-contrast colours for readability
  2. Imagery and Graphics
    • High-resolution or vector images only
    • Use of brand-related or thematic visuals
    • Avoid clutter—opt for one powerful image over several small ones
  3. Typography
    • Limit to 2–3 font families
    • Use sans-serif fonts for better legibility (e.g., Helvetica, Open Sans)
    • Hierarchical structure: Headline > sub headline > Body text
  4. Branding
    • Company logo placed prominently, usually top corners or centre
    • Use of brand colours and fonts
    • Consistency with existing marketing materials
  5. Call to Action (CTA)
    • Examples: “Visit Us Today,” “Call Now,” “Limited Offer!”
    • Short, action-oriented, and easy to read
  6. Background
    • Simple and not distracting
    • May include gradients, textures, or solid colours
    • Should support—not overpower—the text and graphics

  • Outdoor Banners: Must be bold, simple, weather-resistant, and readable from afar
